Our Story

The idea of addresses came from an emergency response project the founder, Benson, had implemented between 2018 and early 2020. The emergency response project was named `Agiza Rescue`, which means `Request Rescue`. The project’s main goal was to connect communities with the nearest ambulance, police, and fire department services using a mobile application.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he observed that it was very difficult for patients to get homecare services and for the government to map out the spread of the virus. This was when he got the idea of building an accurate address system. After 3.5 years of development, testing, and improvement, `Where 1.0` is now complete.

One factor that has been very important in this journey is his decision to take part-time jobs with tech companies in New York, Silicon Valley, Ontario, and Singapore. This allowed the founder the time to build the system and afford its associated costs.

Working with startups and established international tech companies gave him an opportunity to learn from visionary leaders and talented developers. Secondly, it gave him hands-on experience with modern software development methodologies such as agile, CI/CD, GitOps, zero-trust, IaC, and Cloud computing. Last but not least, it helped him understand the best practices to follow when running a tech company.

This experience is reflected in the formation of the current team, which includes him as the CEO, a quality and processes specialist, an experienced systems engineer, and a data analysis specialist. A great address creation system and an experienced leadership team position the `Where` project pre-scale initiative for success once the right partner comes on board. We believe that continuous, thorough evaluation, genuine learning, and measurable adjustments are key to making the project a success.
